Solo mama, I salute you!
IT ISN'T EASY FLYING SOLO.
I SHOULD KNOW, I DID IT FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS.
I'm so grateful for the many many people who cheered me on, championed me and invested in me on my solo mum journey.
It makes my heart so full to pass it on.
Our commitment to impact
We are committed to empowering women to be all that God has created them to be. For us, that looks like coming alongside solo mums on their #mumlife journey when they need someone to believe in them and cheer them on most.
We do this by offering women the opportunity to experience our one day coaching intensives or our online course completely for FREE.
Early on in my solo mum journey, I was overwhelmed with shame. Especially, as I was a teenage singe mum; not a label I ever wanted to wear.
I felt broken, overwhelmed, worthless, and hopeless. Fear and doubt ruled my thoughts. Who’d ever want me when I came with 'baggage'? At least that was the story that society told me, and for a while I believed it.
But then one day I called BS on those stories that kept dragging me down and a powerful thought hit me.
Yes my life is different. It’s different to what I had wanted and planned. It is different to what my parents had hoped for me. It is different to the ideal that society suggests. But I have a choice, is this going to be a good different or a bad different?
Am I going to allow this situation to make me bitter, or make me become better.
I chose good different.
I chose to become better.
And so for almost 10 years I parented solo (and did a pretty good job of it if I do say so myself!).
And do you know what?
I didn’t feel like I was missing out.
I didn’t feel like we were doing it tough.
I just did the best I could with what I had and made it my mission to make this different life we found ourselves in the best dang different I possibly could.
Besides, what I thought was different was just my daughter’s normal, she didn't know any different. And I wanted her normal to be awesome!
And it's been the most epic ride. We've had adventures and holidays and experiences I'm sure I never would've be driven to pursue if it wasn't for the unexpected blessing of being a solo mum.
It's made me resilient, and determined, and resourceful and so many other things that I'm extremely grateful for.
I've achieved everything I wanted to and so much more, and have been blessed beyond my hopes and dreams.
I am a better person because of my solo mum journey.
And so I want to pass the goodness onwards. Because I know that when a mama is healthier and happier, the family around her is too.
The ripple effect of a healthy,
In this season of my life, it is my absolute privilege to be able to extend kindness and generosity onwards. To honour and support and cheer on those mums flying solo. To use what I have in my hand and invest what I can in other mamas on their journey to becoming better, just as so many amazing people did for me.
The way I do this through The Healthy Happy Soul is by offering solo mums the opportunity to experience our one day coaching intensives or take our online course completely for FREE.
